In celebration of Patient and Employee Safety Week, their team wants to highlight the impressive patient and employee safety improvement work being implemented at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, and celebrate their safety journey.

Nursing Managers Cara Nemeth and Michelle Cacciola. Assistant Nurse Manager Shannon Clarke. Nursing Supervisor Richard Obregon. Nursing Vice President Nicole Lucas. Senior Director of Quality & Patient Safety Sally Umbro. Child Life Therapists Jeannie Sweeney and Marci Lewis.

This multidisciplinary leadership team recently implemented structured daily proactive multidisciplinary safety huddles, with aims of reducing patient and employee risk and harm, promoting a culture of safety, enhancing teamwork, collaboration, and team communication. Proactive safety huddles empower and engage frontline staff in problem identification and build a safety culture of collaboration and quality, thereby enhancing the ability to deliver safer care. The safety of patients, families and workforce is their #1 priority!

Congratulations to the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital Multidisciplinary Leadership Team: inclusive of nursing leaders, attending pediatric MD's, attending MD's from child psychiatry, child life therapist, social work and quality.
