Solutions for Patient Safety was recently featured on the A Dose of Optimism podcast, where Anne Lyren, Chief Medical and Strategy Officer, discussed how SPS is accelerating the next phase of pediatric patient safety through innovation.

A central focus of the conversation was the SPS–KidsX Patient Safety Innovation Challenge, an initiative designed to identify, test, and scale new technologies that address some of the most persistent safety challenges in children’s hospitals.

The challenge invites entrepreneurs, startups, and solution builders to develop tools that target SPS’s breakthrough harm areas, such as Unplanned Extubations (UE) and delirium. What makes the challenge unique is its real-world impact. Promising solutions are not just evaluated — they are showcased and tested across the SPS Network, creating a powerful pathway from idea to implementation.
